GCC-MELT is a high-level domain specific language that eases the development of plugin-like extensions for GCC, the Gnu Compiler Collection. These extensions can analyze or modify GCC internal representations, and can be used for static source code analysis, refactoring, specific warnings, optimizations, etc. The MELT language provides high-level features. Notably, MELT code is translated to C or C++, and can even contain C or C++ code. It includes powerful pattern matching facilities and can manipulate dynamically typed values and raw GCC structures. It enables functional/applicative, object-oriented, reflective programming styles and has a familiar Lisp-like syntax.
Release Notes: The :auto ctype annotation, now the default in LET bindings, make the newly defined variable gets its c-type from the expression defining it. The BOX, CONSTANT_BOX, and UNBOX syntactic constructs are new. In the MELT runtime a new evalfile mode is available for evaluating an expression from a file, stdin by default. The melt-module.mk makefile fragment is now silent, but can be made verbose. Several primitives have been added, and many bugs have been fixed.
synthclone "clones" MIDI-capable instruments by sending out MIDI data which instructs an instrument to emit sounds for a series of notes, velocities, controls, and aftertouch values. It then saves this data as a sample-based instrument which can be loaded by sampler software.
Release Notes: The release of synthclone includes four new plugins: lv2 for using LV2 effects inside synthclone, renoise for saving your instruments as Renoise instruments, reverser, which reverses what you sample, and sampleloader, which loads samples into synthclone from your local filesystem.
XOST is a front end for the Simile Timeline that is based on the KISS principle. XML is used to store the data.

fwsnort translates snort rules into an equivalent iptables ruleset. By making use of the iptables string match module, fwsnort can detect application layer signatures which exist in many snort rules. fwsnort adds a --hex-string option to iptables, which allows snort rules that contain hex characters to be input directly into iptables rulesets without modification. In addition, fwsnort makes use of the IPTables::Parse Perl module in order to (optionally) restrict the snort rule translation to only those rules that specify traffic that could potentially be allowed through an existing iptables policy.
Release Notes: This release adds a new comprehensive test suite, a faster iptables/ip6tables capabilities testing routine, and fixes for hex string encoding for some Snort content matches with syntax-busting characters.
