Aspose.Cells is a Java component for spreadsheet reporting without using Microsoft Excel. Other features include creating spreadsheets, opening encrypted Excel files, macros, VBA, Unicode, formula settings, pivot tables, and importing data from JDBC ResultSet. CSV, SpreadsheetML, PDF, ODS, and all file formats from Excel 97 to Excel 2007 are supported. It supports all advanced features of data management, formatting, worksheet, charting, and graphics.

Release Notes: Supports optimizing memory usage when working with big MS Excel files and large data sets (when building a workbook with large data sets, or reading a big template file). Sometimes developers may need to set their desired custom DateTime for the PDF files. This release allows getting or setting time for generating PDF documents during Excel to PDF conversion. Moreover, it also supports another valuable MS Excel features for showing formulas instead of the calculated values in a worksheet. Bugs in reading and writing Excel files and rendering images from worksheets have been fixed.

Sometimes, you may want to retrieve details from external data sources, for example, if you want to read the SQL connection data. You can also limit the number of pages generated in Excel-to-PDF conversion. You can print a range of pages to the output PDF file using this new feature and can set a limit on how many pages are generated when converting a MS Excel spreadsheet to PDF file format. This release improves the chart-to-image and sheet-to-image modules and adds a number of enhancements.
Release Notes: The dependency on the dom4j library has been removed and was replaced with a custom XML parser. A “Cannot find black listed licenses resource” exception was fixed.
