GeoToad is a geocaching query tool to help speed up the boring part of geocaching: choosing the cache and collecting the data. It allows you to generate any kind of complex query you want, and the program will go and poll the Geocaching query, grab the data, and output it to any format you want. The Geocache info can be synced straight to your GPS, iPod, PDA, or cell phone in over 20 different formats.

Release Notes: This stable version, codenamed "M'aidez!", is mainly a bugfix release triggered by recent changes in the search result format. Minor additions include the "-Y" option (skip fetching details), and "short input" into the TUI. Please move to Ruby 1.9, as 1.8 support will be phased out soon.

Release Notes: This stable version fixes GPX file corruption caused by the introduction of UTF-16-encoded characters, in particular "Emoji" (represented as surrogate pairs). Smileys in log entries are now converted back into their usual "BB" representation. A subtle bug affecting the TUI with automatic filename generation has been addressed. The Windows installer now comes with Ruby 1.9.3, in preparation of the Ruby version transition due in June (when support for 1.8.7 ends).

Release Notes: This stable version comes with favorite point filtering, a "not found by me" option, and support for more languages (notably, Latvian and Italian, and a fix for Portuguese). There are still a number of known glitches.

Release Notes: After some changes to the server, parsing of cache logs no longer worked. This bugfix release cures the issue, and irons out some minor quirks (log-less caches and whole countries).

Release Notes: This release contains several experimental new features. A few of them will, together with accumulated bugfixes, be incorporated into the next stable release.

Are you up for a new challenge?
The 3.17 development series has just been started, for testing new bugfixes and enhancements which would later be (back-)ported to the stable series but may still be broken or incomplete.
Caveat: If you don't like bleeding edges, don't use this. Problem reports to be sent by e-mail only!

Almost exactly one year after the gc.com site update which broke "early filtering" by Difficulty/Terrain/cacheSize from search results, we are proud to present GeoToad 3.14.7 which re-introduces this feature, adds search result limiting, and fixes a few minor issues.
As a bonus, Mac OS X packaging is back - hopefully the package will work on OSX versions prior to 10.6 (the version used for the build).
Please go directly to the GoogleCode download page until the links on this page are fixed.
There's also an update to the development version, now at 3.15.2 - attempts have been made to understand more foreign languages, and respect the user's date format preference.
See the GeoToad wiki for more details.

There's a new release out - 3.14.6 fixes the login issue that was triggered by the Oct 6 site update.
(Apologies that the "What's new" list may have been broken by past updates.)
Until the links on this page have been updated please visit code.google.com/p/geot...
There's also a 3.15.1 with enhanced functionality (which is tagged Development and not Featured) but still in beta testing. Caveat emptor.

For more than two weeks, there's an incomplete set of GeoToad 3.14.5 packages available. MacOS isn't part of them yet which is why there hasn't been an announcement here yet.
There is also a development branch now (3.15.x) which for obvious reasons won't be linked to from here.
