GNU Typist

GNU Typist (gtypist) is a universal typing tutor. It includes typing tutorials in several languages and for several keyboard layouts. GNU Typist is a direct descendant of the famous program "Typist".

    Release Notes: This release has a fix for Colemak lesson. libintl is now an external requirement. libtinfo is now linked against, as required. There are minor documentation fixes.

      Release Notes: This release fixes Alt+some key being treated as ESCAPE and clearing drills, updates the ktouch lesson import script, updates lessons imported from ktouch (fixing an issue with lines over 80 characters causing errors, amongst other things), and fixes errors in lessons.

        Release Notes: Fixes a collision between Unicode 0x107 (c with accent) and KEY_BACKSPACE. Changes the documentation license so that there are no invariant sections.

          Release Notes: Native Language Support was added and UTF-8 support was fixed on Windows. vim syntax highlighting was re-added, and the manual was updated. The Polish translation was updated. The build system was fixed.

            Release Notes: Full UTF-8 support, new Colemak typing lessons, many new international lessons imported from KTouch 1.6, an update of the German tipptrainer 0.6.0 lesson, tracking of personal best scores, a new Spanish manual, and new Polish and Turkish translations. The DJGPP compiler (DOS) no longer supported, although the MinGW GCC compiler is.
