libmikmod is a portable sound library, which used to be packaged with the MikMod module player, but is now released independently. It is capable of playing samples as well as module files, using the OSS driver for output, as well as ALSA and EsounD. Supported module formats include MOD, S3M, XM, IT, MED, MTM, and 669, to name a few.

Release Notes: This is a beta version. The build system has been converted to CMake. A pkg-config file has been added, and there may be a few fixes to the code. Some of the drivers may not work, but patches or pull requests to get them working are welcome.

Release Notes: This final 3.2.0 release adds an updated ALSA driver, a Mac OS X CoreAudio driver, a loader for .amf modules, and many bugfixes (including some for security bugs).

Release Notes: This release updates the ALSA driver for newer versions of ALSA, fixes compilation on MSVC and other compilers which don't support variable declarations inside the code, and converts MLOADER's fields from "char *" to "const char *".

Release Notes: Maintenance has resumed after many years of inactivity. Several important patches (including for security bugs) have been merged from the Mageia Linux package. Sources have been moved to a Mercurial repository. Some older features and fixes did not make it to beta2.
