Mutt Folder List

Mutt Folder List is a mutt patch that adds a sidebar showing all mail folders and the total and number of new messages each contains. It allows users to hide or display the sidebar with a single keystroke, and optionally highlights folders with new messages. Users can scroll up and down the list of folders and open the selected folder, and configure the sidebar width, colors, and key bindings.

          1.5.19 wrong message count
If 1.5.19 shows incorrect message count in all the maildir folders, except for the current, the (second) patch in bugs.launchpad.net/ubu... from Aneesh Kumar fixed the problem for me.

OK, I think I have detected the problem: I have long names of mail boxes and had only to set sidebar_width at a higher value :)

When I remove my usual .muttrc and create a new one with only the sidebar data indicated on the site, mutt no longer crashes and it is possible to get a sidebar. It should be some conlict between my usual .muttrc and the new data.

Sorry for the noise! I will try to determine where is the conflict.

          Mutt crashes
I have compiled mutt 1.5.12 with the latest patch: patch-1.5.12.sidebar.20060804.txt

and unfortunately it crashes as soon as I try to get the sidebar. My .muttrc file is modified as suggested on the web site.

          Any help would be appreciated.

          Hi

I just downloaded and installed the Debian package: mutt_1.5.11+cvs20060403-2.

The problem does appear to be fixed!

Thanks a lot! This is a great patch!

Is there a way to force recalculating the message and unread count?

Right now after opening the sidebar all counters (except the mailbox that is opened) have their counter set to 0. Only after opening a mailbox the number off messages and the number of unread messages is correctly updated.

In the mailboxes view the number of unread messages is shown correctly except for the INBOX.
