phlyMail

phlyMail is a groupware, webmailer, and PIM. It offers unlimited nested groups, unlimited POP3/IMAP profiles, quotas, an integrated address book, a calendar with multiple reminders and event repetitions, a file manager with an integrated WebDAV server, the ability to send faxes, SMS support (which lets you send SMS, get reminded of events via SMS, and get email notification via SMS), a bookmark manager, themes, and multilingual support. It uses either sendmail or SMTP to send email, and can handle MIME and SSL connections. Support for IDN (Internationalized Domain Names) is included. Through its modular design, it's easy to add completely new features as modules, which can be plugged into the system.

Recent releases

  •  16 Mar 2014 16:11

Release Notes: This releases improves the self-healing of the CronJobs, which should recognize dead processes more reliably. Users shouldn't need to manually intervene anymore. "Reply All" now removes one's own address from CC fields.

    •  03 Jul 2013 10:48

Release Notes: This build fixes a nasty error in the installer, which "forgot" to create some system folders for the user. Code has also been added which tries to recreate the missing folders on login, if necessary.

      •  20 Feb 2013 15:54

Release Notes: The installer has been fully revamped, giving it a more modern, slim appeal and making it easier to understand. A few minor issues with the configuration interface, the mail list, and fetching external calendars have been fixed. Cronjob scheduling has been improved, with the process limit raised. Both steps should improve Cronjob handling.

        •  10 Feb 2013 15:07

Release Notes: Unfortunately, there were still some minor bugs in the previous build; they have been fixed in this one.

          •  07 Feb 2013 09:36

Release Notes: This build fixes various issues with typos and the autoload mechanism, and massively improves the behavior when adding a new IMAP account.

            Re: Licence
Yes, it is. But be aware, that you cannot update your installation to any future version of phlyMail, be it because of new features or of security fixes, without having to redo all your work.

Besides that I think, you will have to spend a lot of time to figure out all places to be changed.

I think, it's not worth the efforts - we already did that for you and offer the multi user branches at a reasonable price.

            Licence
Website says restricted to 1 user, send $$$ to upgrade to multiuser versions. Is it permitted under the terms of the licence to modify out this restriction for own use ?

For PHlyMail now also runs fully under Windows, the project homepage has been updated as well as the categorization here at freshmeat.net.

Thanks again for pointing out the mistake.

Thank you very much for pointing that out. Although you can run it under quite any system, where PHP runs, there's one or two places (namely deleting a user) in the source, where currently only Linuxoid OS' are supported.

            os independant?
            project says os independant.

home page for project under 'system requirements' says:

            - Linux or other UN*X like OS
