twcbackup

twcbackup is easy-to-configure backup software with a graphical configuration tool. It supports multiple backup methods. Usually, the bfsync method is used, which maintains a backup pool of SHA1-hashed files which allows file-level duplication. Automatic deletion of old backups, backup of local data or remote machines via ssh/rsync (Linux machines) or smb/rsync (Windows machines), and replication of the backup repository are supported.

Release Notes: This release improves twcbackupconf checks for backup media configuration: media name and media UUID must not be empty. It adds an ignore_existing option to rsync backups to skip updating files that exist on the backup. Online help is now shown using webkit.

Release Notes: The rsync error code "some files vanished before they could be transferred" is now ignored. bfsync repos are now automatically upgraded to the new bfsync version if necessary. The bfsync group feature is used to avoid problems with processes that crawl the filesystem (such as updatedb). The bfsync version is included in the email report if bfsync is installed.
