K-Yamo is an MP3 and Ogg Vorbis tagger with ID3v2 support. It can store ID3v1, ID3v2.3, or ID3v2.4 tags. It also stores pictures in the tags. K-Yamo supports multi-file editing. It can guess tags out of filenames, and fetches the missing parts from musicbrainz. It also cleans up your files into a structured filesystem tree which makes use of the tags in the files. Finally, it is a CD ripper with FreeDB support. A MySQL database can optionally be used for tagging.
audiopreview is a command-line tool that plays previews of many audio file types (Ogg, MP3, etc.), video file types (AVI, MPEG, Real, etc.), and Internet streams. It can also be used as a regular command-line media file player (i.e. play the files entirely like yauap or mpc123 would).
eduMagnet can search and access different online video sites (YouTube, Blip, TeacherTube, RSS, German public TV, etc). Students and pupils can create playlists of lectures and talks and play educational content using an embedded video player (MPlayer). As an OLPC project eduMagnet is developed for the sugar OS, but can also be used in any Linux environment using GTK. Students may synchronize playlists to the online platform eduMagnet.org so that other users can subscribe to their playlists. Access to new online video sites can easily be added using python plugins ("Magnets").

XDRadio is a simple to use XDialog wrapper for radio listening, It use MPlayer for radio listening and v4l2-cfg for mono-stereo shifting. It will hopefully run on any X Window system. XDRadio is intended for desktop end users with a radio card in their personal computers. It comes in 2 localized versions: French and English. The initial setup is easy, and explained in the README and with comments in the files. After this setup, you will be able to easily control your radio card.

It includes a simple, built-in tag editor with picture support.
MasterSoft Video Player is component for Joomla from version 1.5.x. The component allows the user to upload Flash videos (.flv, .f4v) and Quicktime videos (.mov, .mp4) via the backend or FTP to show them in the frontend. The user can assign a thumbnail (.jpg, .gif, or .png) to each video, which is used in the playlist. For Flash movies, Flowplayer is used. The component is XHTML 1.0 valid and works if the user has the required Flash or Quicktime Plugin installed.
KMid2 plays MIDI and karaoke files to hardware MIDI devices or software synthesizers. It supports playlists, MIDI mappers, tempo (speed) control, volume and pitch (transpose) controls, and configurable character encoding, font, and color for lyrics. The graphic views include a rhythm view (visual metronome), a channels window with solo/muting controls and instrument selectors, and a piano player window (pianola).
